When we finally told Natalie and Zoe that we were expecting (with Sierra), we knew when they got picked up a few days later, that they would be telling DB the news. We expected some backlash because, let’s be honest, she couldn’t resist voicing her opinion about everything that happened in our home.

*Note before I explain this story*: Both Sierra and Kiley were very much planned. We had the discussion about wanting to have a child together, and we even planned when we were actually going to start trying. Neither of our children were conceived by “accident”.

So the day that DB picked the kids up from our home, they told her before they even made it to the end of our quarter mile driveway. By the time she made it to the end of our driveway, she was calling Dad. She started the conversation off with laughing and then saying “Way to go”. He asked what she was talking about and she said “Way to fuck up your life.” Again, he asked what she was talking about. She then said “How could you have knocked her up? How dumb are you?” Please keep in mind, Natalie and Zoe were in the car with her while she was saying these things. Dad eventually just said “It’s none of your business” and the call ended.

This is where the title comes into play. Over the last couple of years, we have come to know DB’s ex boyfriend, Brandon. He is a very standup guy. We have had plenty of conversations and I can honestly say I wish she hadn’t messed up that relationship because he would have supplied Natalie and Zoe with stability and normalcy in that household had he been around longer. We had been told this bit of information by someone else actually, but we did verify it with Brandon, mainly just to get a good laugh.

After DB had found out that we were expecting a baby, she had messaged Brandon asking him to get her pregnant. She even gave him the line of “You don’t need to stick around and be the dad, just get me pregnant and I’ll take care of the baby on my own.” We saw the texts thanks to Brandon’s complete honestly and support. He saw what we were going through so he’s been very transparent.

In addition to this, which was the most important and entertaining piece of info, Brandon told us a bunch of other details, and we can say we are very happy for him that he escaped that toxic person.
